The ingredients needed to make Pumpkin Halwa:
- Use 500 gm of yellow pumpkin.
- Provide 500 ml of full cream milk.
- You need 2 Tbsp of ghee.
- You need 125 gm of Sugar.
- Provide 1/2 tsp of Cardamom powder.
- You need 2 Tbsp of Chopped cashew nuts and pistachios.
- Prepare 4-5 of Saffron strings.
Instructions to make Pumpkin Halwa:
- Let’s take the milk in a pan, add saffron strings and make it bit thick like maava and for this, boil milk on a high flame and make sure to stir it continuously until it is thick. You can use the readymade maava as well. Tip: Do this on wide pan so that the maava will be ready soon..
- Now take the pan on another gas, add 2 tbsp ghee, once the ghee is melted, add the grated pumpkin and cook it for 2 mins with stirring it..
- Now cover it with the lid and cook it on low flame for another 4-5 mins. Now open the lid and mix the cooked pumpkin well. Again cook it for another 4-5 mins with the covered lid. Now open the lid, add the sugar, mix it well and now you will see some water in the cooked pumpkin..
- So cook it on a high flame to vaporise the water from it. Once there is no water left then add the prepared maava in the cooked pumpkin and mix it well and then add chopped dry fruits, cardamom powder, mix it well and cook it for another 2 mins. Now the Halwa is ready and garnish it with the chopped dry fruits as per your choice..
